Gold Nugget 2007The Prince of Wales Hotel has been offering guests a warm friendly atmosphere and accommodation since it was built in the late 1800s, making it one of Gulgongs oldest buildings. Situated in Mayne Street, Gulgong - an historic country town in the heart of the Mudgee wine district, with a population of 2,500.

The Prince of Wales Hotel has a restaurant open 7 days and nights for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a menu to suit all palates and a selection of Mudgee wine available. There is loads of entertainment with a Texas Hold em Poker comp on a Thursday night, Live Bands on Friday night, and a Saturday night Pool Comp.

The hotel style accommodation at the Prince of Wales Hotel, consists of five rooms equipped with TV, air conditioning, electric blankets, bar fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and shared bathrooms.

Also now available at the Prince of Wales hotel, are seven newly built, modern 3 1/2 star rooms (AAAT rated). This motel style accommodation option includes one room with wheel chair access. The rooms are tastefully decorated, are fully air conditioned, with ensuites, Wi-Fi wireless internet access, and Austar reception shown on LCD flat screen TVs.

The Prince of Wales hotel offers good country hospitality at reasonable rates, and deals for contractors working at the Ulan Coal Mine, that include accommodation and meals with a packed lunch. Ulan Coal Mine is about a half hours drive from Gulgong.

Gulgong hosts many special and annual events, most of which are easy walking distance from the Prince of Wales Hotel. The Prince of Wales Opera House is just next door, and it is only a few blocks to the Gulgong RSL club or the Gulgong Bowling club. Gulgong is the perfect location for those needing accommodation when visiting the Mudgee Wineries, particularly during the Mudgee Wine Festival in September.
